NEBA Mission Statement

My name is Byron Rudd, I am a Norristown resident and alumni. I was born and raised in Norristown and spent my adolescents playing on the courts on Oak street and Rahway Ave. There were no Norristown AAU programs and unfortuntaley my family was unable to afford to put me in outside programs. I feel strongly that if I was allowed those opportunities, I may have been able to use sports to elevate. I now have 4 children of my own, 3 of them boys who love sports. I coach in many local leagues such as Plymouth ABA, Oak street, and Norristown Rec. My wife Kim and I are very passionate about helping the Norristown youth as we see so much talent and drive but nowhere locally for the children to go. We decided to take our inspirations and turn them in to a reality with the start of NEBA.

We started Norristown Elite Basketball Association to bring a positive family-based sport environment to the Norristown youth. The focus of the program is to develop players into the best version of themselves while instilling the importance of teamwork and dedication. We believe that all youth should have AAU opportunities regardless of their economic and geographic status. We offer affordable tournaments as well as pay as you go options. The goal is to allow the youth to feel proud to be a part of an elite program originated in their hometown, Norristown. AAU is great exposure for student athletes which enables them to be seen in the private school and College draft scene leading to scholarship offers. That is something that Norristown youth does not always get the privilege to be a part of. AAU sports have many other benefits for youth such as helping build relationships, making friends, travel outside of their hometown, teaching responsibility and dedication, and many other valuable life lessons.

Norristown Youth deserves the best, and NEBA is taking a step to bring the best to their front door!!
